A Giant Rat Was Found In Mexico City’s Sewage Tunnels

Mexican city sewage workers found a giant rat while scouring the sewers.

According to the Border Report, the crew was cleaning 22 tons of litter from the city’s drainage tunnels after the heavy rains. They came across a giant rat, which was actually a Halloween prop that had been washed out of its warehouse by the storm. The prop somehow disappeared into a labyrinth of drains underground, where it sat undiscovered for years.

Locals couldn’t figure out how the rat being this massive in size was pulled out of the drain in the first place. Though it was not a real rat, people marveled that it looked like a real rodent.

A woman named Evelin López admitted that the rat was hers, which she reportedly created from scratch for Halloween.

According to Lopez, it had gone missing years ago during a torrential downpour. She had even asked for help to search the drain many times but no one could help her retrieve it.

Lopez wasn’t sure what she was going to do with the prop, or even she was planning to keep her.
